Morning Prayer for September 23

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Our God hath not forsaken us

Today’s takeaway: Trials do not mean God has forgotten you, because He disciplines the children He loves.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

The LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

The LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God

Shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.

Prayer

Faithful God, You have not forsaken us. You told me not to be surprised by fiery trials. When You correct me, You are treating me as Your child. You test me to know whether I love You with all my heart. You will not forsake Your people, for Your great name's sake. A mother may forget her child, but You will not forget me. My hope is in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
