Morning Prayer for October 21

About 2–3 minutes · 11 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Today’s takeaway: In Christ you share in God's fullness as His child and heir.

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God

His Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things

If children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

I and my Father are one.

The Father is in me, and I in him.

My Father, and your Father; and … my God, and your God.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one

The church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Having … these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Prayer

Father, from the fullness of Your Son I have received grace upon grace. He is Your beloved Son, and in Him You have made me Your child. What manner of love is this! He is heir of all things, and I am a joint heir with Him. He is in You and You are in Him, and He is in me. Since I have these promises, help me cleanse myself and be holy today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
