Morning Prayer for May 9
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Today’s takeaway: You cannot see heaven yet, but faith holds on to what God has prepared for you.
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit
After that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
We walk by faith, not by sight
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I have not seen You, yet I love You. You said those who have not seen and still believe are blessed. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. No eye has seen what You have prepared for those who love You, but Your Spirit is the pledge of it. So I walk by faith today, and I will not throw away my confidence. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
