About 2–3 minutes · 6 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Take heed unto thyself

Today’s takeaway: Keep watch over your own life and walk by the Spirit, with steady discipline.

Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

They that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Prayer

Father, help me take heed to myself today. An athlete controls himself in everything to win a crown that fades; I am running for one that never will. Clothe me with Your whole armor so I can stand against the devil's schemes. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh. Since I live by the Spirit, let me also walk by the Spirit and be led by Him. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
