Morning Prayer for May 12

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Today’s takeaway: God's love poured into your heart shows you are His child, so love others freely.

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Prayer

Abba, Father, You have not given me a spirit of fear but the Spirit of adoption. Your love has been poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit, and He tells me I am Your child. You showed Your love by sending Your only Son so that I might live through Him. Since You loved me so much, help me love the people I meet today, especially the ones who are hard to love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
