Morning Prayer for June 20

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages.

Today’s takeaway: No kindness done for Jesus is ever forgotten, not even a cup of water.

Go ye … into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you.

Whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, … in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

And the King shall answer and say unto them, … Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world

Prayer

Lord, Pharaoh's daughter told Moses' mother to take the child and nurse him for her, and she would be paid. You have given me people to care for, and You say the same: care for them for Me. A cup of cold water in Your name is not forgotten. Whatever I do for the least of these, I do for You. Help me serve faithfully today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
