Morning Prayer for July 22
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
In that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Today’s takeaway: Jesus died once for sin, so live the rest of your life for God.
He was numbered with the transgressors
Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
By one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
This man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Forasmuch … as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You died to sin once for all, and now You live to God. By one offering You made me holy forever. Arm me with Your mind today, so I do not live the rest of my time for my own desires, but for the will of God. Show me where that choice will come up today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
