Morning Prayer for January 17

About 2–3 minutes · 6 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

Thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption

Today’s takeaway: God pulled you out of the pit because He loves you and delights in mercy.

God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

I waited patiently for the LORD; … He brought me up … out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock

Prayer

LORD my God, in love to my soul You delivered it from the pit. You sent Your only Son so I could live through Him. When my soul fainted, I remembered You, and You heard me. You drew me out of the miry clay and set my feet on a rock. Who is a God like You, who delights in mercy? Let me live today as one rescued. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
