Morning Prayer for January 14
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
My Father is greater than I.
Today’s takeaway: Jesus shows you the Father, because He and the Father are one.
When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven
My Father, and your Father; … my God, and your God.
As the Father gave me commandment, even so I do.
The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
Thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?
I and my Father are one.
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
Prayer
Father in heaven, Jesus called You His Father and my Father, His God and my God. He did nothing on His own, but only what You gave Him. Teach me that kind of dependence today. As You love the Son, He loves me. Let me stay in that love and keep His words, not out of fear but out of joy. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
