Morning Prayer for February 22
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
Today’s takeaway: God promises to teach and guide those who fear Him, so listen for His direction today.
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
Prayer
LORD, You teach the one who fears You the way to choose. I do not know the way through today on my own. Let Your Word be a lamp for my feet. When I turn to the right or the left, let me hear Your voice behind me saying, This is the way. Guide me with Your eye, and let me not be stubborn like a mule. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
