Morning Prayer for February 2

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

That thou wouldest keep me from evil

Today’s takeaway: Ask God to keep you from evil today, and stay alert in prayer.

Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

He that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations

Prayer

Father, keep me from evil today, the way Jabez asked. My spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. Keep me awake and praying so I do not wander into temptation. Give me neither poverty nor riches, just my daily bread, so I do not forget You or dishonor You. Preserve my soul and deliver me from the hand of the wicked. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
