Morning Prayer for December 31
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
The LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.
Today’s takeaway: As the year ends, remember how God has carried you, and trust Him for the year ahead.
I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.
In his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So the LORD alone did lead him
Even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
This God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee
Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.
For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.
Prayer
LORD, on this last day of the year, I look back and see that You carried me, as a man carries his son, all the way I went. You bore me on eagles' wings and brought me to Yourself. In Your love and pity You carried me all the days of old. Even to old age You will carry me. I cast this year's burdens on You. Hitherto You have helped me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
