God’s Word

Your work of faith

Today’s takeaway: Faith that is real gets to work, showing itself in love and good deeds.

This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Faith which worketh by love.

He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth

Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power

It is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Prayer

Father, this is the work You ask: that I believe in Him whom You sent. But faith without works is dead, and real faith works by love. I am Your workmanship, created for good works. Christ gave Himself to make me zealous of good works. Let my work of faith be real today. You work in me both to will and to do what pleases You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
