Morning Prayer for December 17
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
Today’s takeaway: Ask God to make you alive in prayer, because His Spirit helps you pray.
It is the spirit that quickeneth
The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance
I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
The letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
This is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us
No man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Prayer
LORD, revive us, and we will call on Your name. It is the Spirit who gives life. Your precepts have made me alive. Your Spirit helps my weakness when I pray. The words of Jesus are spirit and life. If I abide in Him and His words abide in me, I can ask, and it will be done. No one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. Quicken me this morning. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
