Morning Prayer for December 1

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

A man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is your hiding place from every storm, so run to Him when you are overwhelmed.

Forasmuch … as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same

The man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts

I and my Father are one.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

There shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.

The LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble

Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are a hiding place from the wind and a shelter from the storm, like the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. You took on flesh and blood to be that shelter for me. I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I am. You are my hiding place today. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
