Morning Prayer for August 5
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Walk in newness of life.
Today’s takeaway: In Christ you are a new creation, so walk today in a new way of life.
As ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
I beseech you … brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind
If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
In Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind
Ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus
Put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Prayer
Father, You raised Christ from the dead so that I could walk in newness of life. I once offered my body to sin; now let me offer it to righteousness. By Your mercies I present myself to You as a living sacrifice. I am a new creation. Help me not to live as the world lives, but to put on the new self, created in righteousness and true holiness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
