Morning Prayer for August 21
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
Thou art my portion, O LORD
Today’s takeaway: The LORD Himself is your portion, and in Him you have a good inheritance.
All things are your’s
And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
Our Saviour Jesus Christ; … gave himself for us
Gave him to be the head over all things to the church
Loved the church, and gave himself for it
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord
The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
Prayer
LORD, You are my portion. All things are mine, because I am Christ's, and Christ is God's. He gave Himself for the church to make it glorious, without spot or wrinkle. Whom have I in heaven but You? My flesh and my heart may fail, but You are my portion forever. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. My soul will boast in You today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
