About 2–3 minutes · 13 Scripture passages (KJV)

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

The fruit of the Spirit is love

Today’s takeaway: Real joy comes from Jesus and can stay with you even in sorrow and trouble.

Joy in the Holy Ghost.

Unspeakable and full of glory

Sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing

Exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

We glory in tribulations

Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; … for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

As the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

The joy of the LORD is your strength.

In thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Prayer

Father, the fruit of Your Spirit is joy, and I want it today, not just a happy mood when things go well. Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before Him, and He wants His joy to remain in me. In Your presence is fullness of joy. So even when I am sorrowful, let me be always rejoicing. Your joy is my strength this morning. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
