Evening Prayer for September 12

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The LORD taketh my part

Today’s takeaway: The LORD is on your side, so remember His name and trust Him instead of human strength.

The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion

We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

If God be for us, who can be against us?

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear

Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us … and he will deliver us

Before you pray

What battle did the Lord fight for you today?

Prayer

LORD, You are on my side; You take my part. When the enemy comes in like a flood, Your Spirit lifts up a standard against him. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember Your name. No temptation has taken me that is not common to man. If You are for me, who can be against me? You are able to deliver. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
