Evening Prayer for November 9
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
Today’s takeaway: One day Jesus will gather all His people to be with Him forever.
Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, … they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am
Then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee
The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet … Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Before you pray
Whom are you looking forward to seeing again when Christ gathers His people?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You will gather Your saints to Yourself from the four winds. You asked the Father that we would be with You where You are. Tonight I think of believers I miss, and I am comforted that we will be gathered together. Until that day, keep me faithful, and let me sleep in hope. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
