Evening Prayer for November 6

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me

Today’s takeaway: The Spirit guides you into truth through Scripture, so let God's Word be your light.

When … the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth

Ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The holy scriptures, … are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God

The wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

Before you pray

What did Scripture teach you today?

Prayer

Father, lead me in Your truth and teach me. The Spirit of truth guides me into all truth. All Scripture is given by Your inspiration and is profitable for teaching, correction, and training in righteousness. Your Scriptures make me wise for salvation through faith in Christ. If I am willing to do Your will, I will know the truth. Instruct me tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
