Evening Prayer for November 4

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The Prince of Peace.

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and in Him you have peace even in a troubled world.

He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment. The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.

He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth. In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

Glory to God … on earth peace, good will toward men.

Through the tender mercy of our God; … the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Before you pray

Where do you need the Prince of Peace to rule tonight?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the Prince of Peace. You come down like rain on mown grass. There is unrest in me tonight: about my family, my work, and the world. Guide my feet into the way of peace. In the world I will have trouble, but in You I have peace. Let that peace keep my heart and mind as I sleep. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
