Evening Prayer for November 25
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Today’s takeaway: If God could forgive Manasseh, no one is beyond His mercy, so call on Him.
He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, … and he reared up altars for Baal
And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. … the LORD
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish
Before you pray
Is there anyone you think is beyond God's mercy?
Prayer
Father, Manasseh filled Jerusalem with evil, yet when he humbled himself and prayed, You heard him and brought him back. No one is beyond Your mercy. Tonight I pray by name for people I have almost given up on. You are not willing that any should perish. Bring them home. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
