Evening Prayer for May 27
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
I would have you without carefulness.
Today’s takeaway: God cares for you, so give Him your worries tonight instead of carrying them to bed.
He careth for you.
The eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Before you pray
What care are you still holding that you could cast on God right now?
Prayer
Father, You care for me. Your eyes run through the whole earth to show Yourself strong for those who trust You. You feed the birds of the air, and those who seek You will not lack any good thing. So I will not worry about my life tonight. I bring You my requests with thanksgiving. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
