Evening Prayer for March 8

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is able to do far more than you ask and to keep you until the end.

Able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think

Able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work

Able to succour them that are tempted.

Able … to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy

Able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Believe ye that I am able to do this? … Yea, Lord. … According to your faith be it unto you.

What did you think was too big for God today?

Prayer

Faithful God, Jesus asked the blind men if they believed He was able, and they said, Yes, Lord. Tonight I say it too. You are able to do far more than I ask or think, to help me when I am tempted, to keep me from falling, and to guard what I have entrusted to You. I know whom I have believed. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
