Evening Prayer for March 7
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
My times are in thy hand
Today’s takeaway: Your times are in God's hand, so leave tomorrow's needs with Him and sleep.
All his saints are in thy hand
The word of the LORD came unto … saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.
Your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Before you pray
What part of tomorrow are you already worrying about?
Prayer
Father, my times are in Your hand. You sent Elijah to the brook, and when it dried up, You sent him to a widow in Zarephath. You always had the next place ready. Tomorrow's needs are no surprise to You; You know I need all these things. So I will not worry tonight. I cast all my cares on You, because You care for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
