Evening Prayer for March 30

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

Today’s takeaway: Even when God seems silent, He has not forgotten you.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Thou shalt not be forgotten of me. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins

Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

A woman … cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; … But he answered her not a word.

The trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth

Before you pray

What prayer seems unanswered, and can you trust God with it tonight?

Prayer

O LORD, sometimes I ask how long You will seem to forget me. A mother may forget her nursing child, but You will not forget me. Jesus loved Lazarus and still waited two days. He answered the Canaanite woman nothing at first, and then gave her everything. Your delays are not neglect. Let this trial of my faith turn out more precious than gold. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
