Evening Prayer for March 3

About 2–3 minutes · 12 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Today’s takeaway: The best reward is not a crown but being with the Lord forever.

Thou shalt have treasure in heaven: … come and follow me.

I am … thy exceeding great reward.

Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

They shall reign for ever and ever.

Ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

The crown of life

A crown of righteousness

They do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me

So shall we ever be with the Lord.

I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Before you pray

What did you do today that only the Lord saw?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are my exceeding great reward. Every crown You promise, of life, of righteousness, of glory, is more than I deserve, but the best of heaven is that I will be with You where You are. Tonight the troubles of this present time feel lighter when I compare them with that glory. Keep me pressing toward the prize. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
