Evening Prayer for March 24

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

Today’s takeaway: Christ's kingdom is different from the world's, and one day every kingdom will belong to Him.

My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, … but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: … and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Thy kingdom come.

Before you pray

What in this world did you hold too tightly today?

Prayer

Father, You have called me into Your kingdom and glory. Christ's kingdom is not of this world, and tonight that comforts me, because some things in this world did not go well today. One day the kingdoms of this world will belong to Him. Until then, let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in me, starting with tomorrow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
