Evening Prayer for March 20
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Noah was a just man
Today’s takeaway: You are made right with God by faith in Jesus, not by keeping rules.
The just shall live by faith.
Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour
The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference
We … joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
Whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified
Before you pray
Did you try today to earn God's approval instead of resting in it?
Prayer
Father, Noah built an altar after the flood, and You received his offering. The Lamb was slain for me before the foundation of the world. I am justified by faith, not by keeping the law, and I have peace with You through our Lord Jesus Christ. Who can bring any charge against me? You are the One who justifies. I lie down tonight accepted. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
