Evening Prayer for June 25

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is both fully man and the mighty God, and all heaven worships Him.

In him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me

Great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh

Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high

Unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever

Let all the angels of God worship him.

KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Before you pray

What does it mean to you tonight that Jesus is both God and man?

Prayer

Father, in Jesus all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily. He is the mighty God, and the government is on His shoulders. Tonight I think of the things I cannot control: my family, my country, my future. I put them on His shoulders, not mine. He is King of kings, and He is my Savior. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
