Evening Prayer for July 29
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
Today’s takeaway: Those who fear God have a good inheritance, and He withholds nothing they truly need.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
Unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Before you pray
What good thing in your life can you count as part of your heritage from God?
Prayer
Father, You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. No weapon formed against me will prosper, and Your angel camps around me tonight. Those who seek You will not lack any good thing. Let the Sun of righteousness rise on me with healing in His wings. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
