Evening Prayer for July 10

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

My son, give me thine heart

Today’s takeaway: God wants your whole heart, so give yourself to Him first and serve Him gladly.

O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

They … first gave their own selves to the Lord

In every work that … began … to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord

As the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men

I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

Before you pray

What did you do halfheartedly today that you could do for the Lord tomorrow?

Prayer

Father, You ask me for my heart. You once longed for Your people to have a heart that would fear You always. Give me that heart. The Macedonians first gave themselves to You, and then their gifts. I give myself to You tonight. Keep my heart with all diligence. Enlarge my heart, and I will run the way of Your commandments. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
