Evening Prayer for January 26

About 2–3 minutes · 6 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The Lord Jesus Christ: … shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body

Today’s takeaway: One day you will see Jesus and be changed to be like Him.

Upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about. … This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD.

We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

It doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more

They sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb

Before you pray

What weakness of body or heart are you looking forward to seeing changed?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You will change this weak body to be like Your glorious body. Ezekiel saw Your glory like a rainbow around the throne. Even now, as I look at You, I am being changed from glory to glory. When I see You, I will be like You. Tonight I am tired and weak, but the best is still ahead. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
