Evening Prayer for January 25

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Today’s takeaway: Through Jesus you may call God your Father and come home to Him.

Jesus, … lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father

Holy Father

Righteous Father

He said, Abba, Father

Because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God

Doubtless thou art our father, … thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father.

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children

Before you pray

Did you live today more like an anxious servant or a beloved child?

Prayer

Abba, Father, Jesus called You Holy Father and Righteous Father, and in the garden He called You Abba. You have sent the Spirit of Your Son into my heart, so I can call You that too. I have access to You by one Spirit. I am not a stranger but part of Your household. Hold me tonight as Your child. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
