Evening Prayer for January 15

About 2–3 minutes · 13 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The measure of faith.

Today’s takeaway: Whether your faith is weak or strong, God can build it up and settle you.

Him that is weak in the faith

Strong in faith, giving glory to God

O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.

Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. … According to your faith be it unto you.

Lord, Increase our faith.

Building up yourselves on your most holy faith

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith

He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, … is God

The God of all grace, … after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

We … that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Let us not … judge one another … but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

Before you pray

Where was your faith weak today, and where was it strong?

Prayer

Lord, You have given every believer a measure of faith. Mine was small today at times. Like the disciples, I ask You to increase it. Root me and build me up in Christ. You will establish me and settle me after I have suffered a while. And help me be patient with those whose faith is weaker than mine. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
