Evening Prayer for February 25

About 2–3 minutes · 11 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Oh that I knew where I might find him!

Today’s takeaway: When God feels far away, keep seeking Him, and you will find Him near.

Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth

Lo, I am with you alway

I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

The … Comforter, … dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Before you pray

When did God feel far away today?

Prayer

Lord, like Job I sometimes wonder where You are. You promise that when I seek You with all my heart, I will find You. Tonight I am seeking. Even if I do not feel You, let me trust Your name and lean on You. Draw near to me as I draw near to You, and meet me in the quiet. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
