Evening Prayer for December 12
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward
Today’s takeaway: Pray, and then go forward in faith, doing what God has told you.
Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight.
We made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not
Before you pray
What is God telling you to go forward with?
Prayer
LORD, at the Red Sea You told Moses to stop crying out and go forward. I have been praying about something for a while, and maybe it is time to act. Show me the next step tomorrow and give me courage to take it. Strengthen my weak hands, and let me not be lazy in serving You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
