Evening Prayer for August 10

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Today’s takeaway: God raises the lowly from the dust and seats them with Christ in heaven.

On high: … The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high

The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes

God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Before you pray

How has God lifted you up when you were low?

Prayer

LORD, You are high above all nations, yet You bend down to lift the poor from the dust and seat them with princes. You did that for me in Christ. Tonight, if I feel low or overlooked, let me remember where You have seated me. Nothing can separate me from Your love. I am safe in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
