Evening Prayer for April 2

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Today’s takeaway: Stay faithful and watchful, because Jesus will come at an hour no one knows.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching

Looking for that blessed hope, … the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ

Before you pray

If Jesus came back tonight, what would He find you trusting?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, when You come, will You find faith on the earth? I want You to find it in me. Many turn away from the truth to what their ears want to hear. Keep me in Your word. No one knows the day or the hour, so keep me watching and ready. Tonight I go to sleep looking for that blessed hope, Your glorious appearing. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
