Evening Prayer for April 14

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation

Today’s takeaway: If you have drifted, come back to God, who heals and restores the joy of salvation.

I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.

I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases

He restoreth my soul

O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Before you pray

In what way have you drifted from the Lord lately?

Prayer

LORD, restore to me the joy of Your salvation. You have seen my ways, and You promise to heal me. Though my sins are like scarlet, You make them white as snow. Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me. You blot out my transgressions for Your own sake. Hold me up tonight, and I will be safe. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
