Hosanna to the King

A morning prayer for Palm Sunday (the Sunday before Easter). In the app it replaces the day’s readings automatically.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

Today’s takeaway: Jesus rode into Jerusalem as the King who saves, so welcome Him with your whole heart.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, on this Palm Sunday the crowds spread their coats on the road and shouted for their King. Hosanna means save us, and that is my prayer too. I welcome You into my life again this morning, not just with cheers, but with surrender. Some of those who shouted that day turned away by Friday. Keep me faithful all the way to the cross and the empty tomb. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
