He Is Risen

A morning prayer for Easter Sunday (the date of Easter changes every year). In the app it replaces the day’s readings automatically.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

God’s Word

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Today’s takeaway: Jesus is not in the tomb, because He is risen just as He said.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are not in the tomb. You are risen, just as You said! Death could not hold You, and because You live, I will live too. This morning I join believers all over the world in celebrating the empty grave. Let the joy of Easter shape every part of my day, and let me tell someone why it matters. Hallelujah. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
