Morning Prayer for September 5
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
God’s Word
As the body is one, and hath many members, … so also is Christ.
Today’s takeaway: Christ is the head and you are part of His body, so grow together in love.
He is the head of the body, the church
The head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
We are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
A body hast thou prepared me
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Thine they were, and thou gavest them me
He hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world
Whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son
Grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, … maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are the head of the body, the church, and I am a member of Your body. The Father gave me to You before the foundation of the world. Your eyes saw me before I was formed, and every one of my days was written in Your book. Help me grow up into You in all things today, and do my part in the body in love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Amen.
Blessing
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
