Evening Prayer for October 31

About 2–3 minutes · 9 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Do as thou hast said.

Today’s takeaway: God's Word is settled forever, so rest your hope on His promises tonight.

Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.

So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.

Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.

Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.

For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations

God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus

Exceeding great and precious promises

Before you pray

What word from God are you holding Him to tonight?

Prayer

LORD, David prayed, Do as You have said. Establish Your word to me, Your servant. I trust in Your word, and it gives me an answer for anyone who mocks. Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. Your word is settled forever in heaven. You have given me exceedingly great and precious promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
