Evening Prayer for October 25

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The end of all things is at hand

Today’s takeaway: Even if the earth gives way, God is your refuge, and a new home awaits you.

I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away

The heavens and the earth, which are now, … are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.

Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled

We have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

We, … look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Before you pray

What unshakable thing can you rest in tonight?

Prayer

Father, the end of all things is at hand. The things I worried about today will not last. But You are my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. I have a building from You, a house not made with hands. Let me hold the things of this world loosely, and sleep in peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
