Evening Prayer for November 13

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Today’s takeaway: Through Jesus you have access to the Father by the Spirit, so pray with confidence.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one

Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. … And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way

Let us draw near

Before you pray

How did you come to God today, and how will you come tonight?

Prayer

Father, through Christ I have access to You by one Spirit. Jesus taught us to say, Our Father. Whatever I ask in His name, He will do, so that You are glorified in the Son. There is one God and Father of all. I have boldness to enter by the blood of Jesus, so I draw near tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
