Evening Prayer for November 11

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Ye are washed, … ye are sanctified, … ye are justified

Today’s takeaway: You are washed, made holy, and made right with God, so no one can accuse you.

The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

The chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Christ … loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

To her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, … Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Before you pray

What do you need to remember about your standing before God tonight?

Prayer

Father, I am washed, sanctified, and justified. The blood of Jesus cleanses me from all sin. The punishment that brought my peace was on Him, and by His stripes I am healed. Christ gave Himself to present His church holy and without blemish. Who can bring any charge against me? Blessed is the one whose sin is covered. I rest in that tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
