Evening Prayer for March 27

About 2–3 minutes · 8 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

God is faithful

Today’s takeaway: God cannot lie, so every promise He has made to you is sure.

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

The Lord sware and will not repent

God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

All the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Before you pray

Which of God's promises did you need most today?

Prayer

Faithful God, You are not a man that You should lie. What You have said, You will do. You even confirmed Your promise with an oath, so that I would have strong comfort. All Your promises are yes in Christ. Tonight I commit the keeping of my soul to You, my faithful Creator. You who called me will do it. I know whom I have believed. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
