Evening Prayer for January 11

About 2–3 minutes · 7 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction

Today’s takeaway: Jesus has broken the power of death and will bring His people home in glory.

Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name

I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction

As the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe

Before you pray

What has God rescued you from that you have not thanked Him for?

Prayer

LORD, You redeem my life from destruction. My Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is His name. You ransomed me from the power of the grave. Whoever believes on the Son has everlasting life, and my life is hidden with Christ in You. Let me sleep tonight as one redeemed, not afraid. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
